“100 Is the New 30”: Why Dr. Jeffrey Gladden Believes Longevity Is Humanity’s Greatest Opportunity

By Tom McKeown

What if aging wasn’t something to be endured—but something to be redesigned?

Dr. Jeffrey Gladden doesn’t just believe that it’s possible—he’s proving it through personal transformation, advanced science, and a bold mission: to help people live young for a lifetime.

After decades as an interventional cardiologist and medical entrepreneur, Dr. Gladden experienced a health crisis in his 50s—no energy, anxiety, depression, brain fog, and loss of strength and weight gain—only to be told by his doctors, “Your results look normal for your age.” Their recommendation? Antidepressants.

Instead, he chose a different path.

Refusing to accept that it was all downhill from here, Gladden spent two and a half years exploring integrative, functional, and longevity medicine. He discovered he had subclinical hypothyroidism, completely missed on blood work and only found with biometric testing, compounded by altered brain thyroid hormone processing genetics.

Genetics also indicated impaired neurotransmitter pathways, resulting in his anxiety, brain fog and depression. In addition, he was hormonally depleted, low on Testosterone and DHEA, and his gut was also a mess. The result: He reversed all his symptoms, regained his vitality, lost 20 pounds of fat, gained 10 pounds of muscle, and felt great again! He began to wonder, “How good can I be?”

“I wake up every day as a 27-year-old,” he says. “Not only in spirit—literally in energy and capacity.” 27 is his new normal and reference point.

That transformation led him leave cardiology and to launch what has become Gladden Longevity, a pioneering longevity medicine practice based in Dallas, Texas. Their mission? To develop and deliver exponential strategies to clients for the exponential problem of aging.

The Problem with “Normal for Your Age”

According to Dr. Gladden, our society has normalized aging and decline. We’ve come to accept the loss of energy, clarity, strength, and resilience as an unavoidable part of aging. “We’re told we’re just getting older. We relate to aging as being linear because chronology is linear  but the biology of aging is not linear—it’s exponential,” he says. “Youth ends at 25 and aging begins and accelerates until 63 and 78, it accelerates rapidly.”

And yet, this biological decline coincides with what should be our most impactful years—professionally, spiritually, and relationally. “Just as we step into our greatest wisdom and capability for impact and opportunity, our health often fails us. That’s the real tragedy of life.”

From Sick Care to Self-Optimization

Most traditional medicine is designed around sickness—not health optimization.

That’s why Gladden Longevity shifts the focus beyond symptom relief to peak performance and long-term vitality. The practice is built around five driving questions:

  1. How good can I be?
  2. How do we make 100 the new 30?
  3. How do we break the Hayflick limit and live well beyond 120?
  4. How do we develop a 300-year-old mind?
  5. How do we live young for a lifetime?

This isn’t just philosophy. It’s backed by one of the most comprehensive clinical testing and treatment frameworks available anywhere. “Most clinics test maybe 10% of what we do,” Gladden says. “We measure over 60 biological ages, not just one.”

Why? Because you’re only as young as your oldest biological system—be it your mitochondria, heart, brain, or immune function.

Linear Solutions Don’t Fix Exponential Problems

Longevity is more than red light therapy, peptides, or supplements. Gladden Longevity’s core belief is that most people are treating aging with linear strategies. But aging is a compounding, interconnected process—what Dr. Gladden calls a “river of decline” driven by the interplay and accelerating impact of the 16 biological drivers of aging.

“If your telomeres shorten, your mitochondria suffer. If your mitochondria fail, you can’t repair your DNA then cells become senescent and increase inflammation, further damaging telomeres and mitochondria. Everything spins faster and faster—like a tornado.”

To combat this, the Gladden team uses a proprietary exponential framework grounded in five interdependent “circles”: Life Energy, Longevity, Health, Performance, and architecting the Environments we reside in to support the mission. Life Energy or the psycho-spiritual, Gladden says, binds everything together.

“People can look great, be on the best supplements, and still make terrible decisions if they’re psycho-spiritually dysregulated,” he explains. “The psycho-spiritual space gives meaning to the entire journey.” It’s about developing all the wisdom and insight of a 300yo mind

Longevity Is Humanity’s Greatest Opportunity

Dr. Gladden’s vision is as much philosophical as it is medical.

“The opportunity isn’t just to live longer—it’s to radically expand who we are,” he says. “It’s the chance to elevate human consciousness, creativity, vitality, and legacy at levels we’ve never seen before.”

To him, the goal isn’t just to see your great-grandchildren. It’s to lead, contribute, and thrive across generations—mentally sharp, physically fit, spiritually grounded, and emotionally resilient.

“I don’t want to retire. I want to expand. And I want to help others do the same.”
